I bought the Xtool AnyScan A30M and it's fantastic. An *absolute* bargain at $170. It is bidirectional so it features in depth diagnostic tests etc. What it supports is down to what car you have but the BMWs and Mercedes I've tested it on - it is great

This little device is truly amazing. I simply downloaded the APP to my tablet, then loaded all the updates, and was good to go. This thing is Bi-directional, meaning you can actually activate various commands & tests to find issues with various components PLUS, OBD2 resets, special functions, and so much more. I wish I had one of these years ago. Oh, another thing I love, FREE lifetime updates....no subscription fees!!!

Works very well, all the features I needed. Works well on my 2014 jaguar Ftype for throttle learn and battery reset, service reset, etc Nice to be able to use my own iPad and option to use an iPhone to make it even more mobile when looking at used cars or helping friends. Well made , like the thought that was put into having the flashlight. My car has the OBD port flipped over so can’t use the volt readout easily but again the designers clearly put some thought into the product. I considered the Autel mk808 but this was less expensive, seems to have all the same features and comes with the promise of free updates. If you can make one repair without going to the dealer you’ve paid for this thing in savings. Use it wisely through, a code does not mean replace the part, you have to develop an understanding of what the computer is seeing is wrong and be able to verify the problem before loading the parts cannon. YouTube is your friend. Many local/college libraries may have access to service data/wiring diagrams. Or subscribe to a service like AllData or IdentiFix This is the other piece of the puzzle you need to DIY car repairs.

I've been using this tool on my 2006 Range Rover Sport, to diagnose and repair the suspension and TPMS. I have the tool to be pretty good, identify 131 codes. After repair of just a few suspension components and broken wires that I would not have been able to find without the tool, the vehicle is code free, and now I can focus on calibrating the suspension height at all 4 corners, and then I will be ready for the trails! Throughout the process I got hung up on a few things, and got to experience the absolutely second to none customer service. Thanks XTOOL.

It costs a little more than some other dongle-type scanners; however, this is a fully bi-direction professional all-system scanning tool that could easily be used by mechanics of every level. I really like the xTool Anyscan A30M. It works like my xTool D7 and has most of its features, including a similar user interface. I carry the A30M with me in my bag and if my car acts up I can scan it immediately with my iPhone.

It's a really nice device, I recommend it. It has free and unlimited updates for life.

Very clear and accurate. I bought this tool, because I was tired of my generic OBD-II reader. My generic reader would not allow for specific codes associated with the different vehicles that I work on. This reader has mapping that is specific to almost every model of car. I have used it on my Ford, I used it on my Toyota, and I used it on my friends BMW. It was very to use in all cases. Not only does it read and clear codes, it also provides various services such as resetting your battery monitoring system (often have to do in the newer models when you change your battery). There were also two occasions when I wasn’t sure how to use it and I contacted XTool and their tech-support got back to me right away with excellent answers to help me learn how to use the new tool. I am not a professional mechanic, but I do like to work on cars and so far give this tool to thumbs up.
