How to Reset Benz MED17 ME9.7 SIM271 ECU with Launch X431 and X-PROG3

With Launch X-PROG3 Immo and Key Programmer, you can renew Mercedes Benz engines ECUs: MED17.7. X, ME9.7, SIM271KE2.0, SIM271DE2.0 etc by Launch X431 tablets (X431 V+, PAD V, PAD VII). How to use X-431 PAD V and X-PRO G3 to virgin/erase Benz ECU?

Take the MED17.7.X model as an example, it is applied to other Mercedes engine models.

1. Enter the Mercedes-Benz V49.60 software and click on “Theft protection”.

2. Click on “Expert mode”.

3. Network is required to download the wiring diagram. Please make sure that the network is

well connected and click “OK”.

4. Click “OK”. The connection method is also explained.

5. Click “Engine Control Unit”.

6. Click “Wiring diagram”.

7. Click “MED17.7.x”.

8. After the module is removed and connected according to the wiring diagram, click “OK”.

9. Click “<“.

10. Click “Completely erase module”.

11. Click “OK”.
