What’s the difference between AutoTuner master and slave tool ?
Master tool
With a master tool you get non encrypted files so you can modify the files by yourself or send it to any tuning files provider.
Any editing software that supports binary file can be used to modify a file read with Autotuner.
Slave tool
With a slave tool you read and write crypted files. These files can only be modified by a specific master. This master is a file provider designated when you buy the tool. Your slave tool is linked to this master.
Any slave tool can be remotely transformed into master tool if the following conditions are met :

Plug the USB key into the USB port of your computer

Select the AutoTuner software and process to the installation

Connect AutoTuner tool to one of the USB port of your computer using the provided USB cable
You do not have to keep the USB key plugged in your computer to use AutoTuner software.
You can install AutoTuner software on multiple computers.
Drivers are included in setup file. Should you encounter any issue related to drivers, please install the AutoTuner software again.
Your computer must have the latest Windows updates for the AutoTuner software to work properly. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee the proper functioning of the tool and its features.
How-to link your tool to your account?
When you receive your AutoTuner tool, the device is activated but not yet linked to your account. If you plug the tool to your USB port, you will be able to link it in a few minutes.
Here is the procedure to link the tool to your account.
A) You already have an AutoTuner account :
Step 1 : connect the device to the laptop
Step 2 : click on "I'm ready - Let's go"
Step 3 : clock on "I have already registered"
Step 4 : click on "Link my tool"
Step 5 : enter your email and click on "Sign in"
WATCH OUT : It is very important that your link the tool to your email address, which you will use to get technical support and file transfers. If you ever need to transfer the tool to another email address, a 499€ fee will be applicable for the warranty and support transfer, even if you own both email addresses.
Step 6 : Go to your mailbox and click on the Magic Link.
WARNING : You must open your mailbox on the same browser as the one on which you entered your email address and pressed "Sign in"
Step 7 : click on "Confirm link"

B) You don't have an AutoTuner account yet :
Follow this link and create one.
Then, once you are logged in, you can link the tool by following the procedure above.
How-to Decrypt slave files and backup?
If you have master tool and there are slave tools linked to your master, you may have to encrypt and decrypt files.
There are 3 solutions :
1. Managing slave files with the master tool with your tool connected to your computer in USB
Connect the AutoTuner master tool to the USB port of your computer.
Launch your AutoTuner software.
Click on "Manage Slave Files"
The software monitors the "AutoTuner Slave files" folder located in your computer and displays all the files available.
Select the operation you want to proceed : decrypt or encrypt.
It's also possible to drag and drop slave files in the AutoTuner window. They are then instantly decrypted.

2. Managing slave files with the online AutoTuner administration without connecting the master tool to your laptop in USB

Click on "Master"

Select the operation you want to proceed : decrypt or encrypt
For "encrypt" and "decrypt" operations you can chooser to process only maps or full backup file.
3. Managing slave files with the AutoTuner master API (optional)
We offer API service to decrypt and encrypt slave files online without having the master tool physically connected to your computer.
This API has to be implemented on your server by a web developer.

As we always strive to offer a complete and secure solution, we have added a two-factor authentication. Please note that this feature is dedicated to master users with slaves linked to them. It is not required if you only own a slave tool or a master tool without any slave tool linked to it. The goal is to protect master operations (slave files decrypt) and slave tools releases.

Enter your phone number. Pay attention to select the right international code in the list (ex: +33 for France or +44 for UK).

FAQs:
We are multiple tuners working on the same AutoTuner account everyday, can we receive the code on multiple phone numbers?
No this is not possible, the code will be sent to only one phone number. If you work in a larger organization with multiple users working with multiple Slaves, you might want to consider using our API service, which allows you to automatically decrypt/encrypt Slave files from your web server.
Is it possible to deactivate the two-factor authentication?
No this is not possible. Please note that this feature is dedicated to Master users with Slaves linked to them. It is not required if you only own a Slave tool or a Master tool without any slave tool linked to it.
I don't have WhatsApp, is there any other solution to receive the code?
We also support SMS or phone call. Please note that email double authentification solution is not available.
How many times should I pass two-factor authentication everyday?
The session is valid for 12 hours. That way, you don't need to login or pass two-factor authentication more than once a day.
How can I change my AutoTuner account phone number?
You can't do it on your side. Please contact Autotuner customer should you want to update the mobile phone number used for two-factor authentication.
Second hand Tools
Buying or selling a second hand tool is possible, but there are a few things you need to know about.
First of all, you need to make sure you are buying the Tool from a trustworthy person, who has taken good care of the Tool when using it.
Secondly, there are costs you need to know about :
In order to transfer a Slave Tool to another Master, we need the written approval from the current Master.

Here is the process to export the error logs related to an ECU reading.
This function saves the necessary information to the support team in a compressed .zip file. This file also contains a screenshot.

AutoTuner datalogging solution has been designed to be easy to use.

Datalogging solution collects and records data sent from the car ECU in live.
Data includes major parameters that relate to engine operations such as:
Why datalogging?
Tuning a car without datalogging is like trying to cook a good meal eye-blinded. Indeed, Any tuner cannot tune right without getting precise feedback on how the engine reacts to the updated parameters.
Information obtained thanks to data-logging is crucial to make the perfect tuning file.
Prerequisites :

Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet*

Make sure that the OBD cable is connected from AutoTuner tool to the OBD-II port in the car

Make sure that the engine is running

We highly encourage you to make datalogging on a dyno
*Internet connection is only required to query available measures from the server and to upload the log when the recording is finished. You can use your WiFi network or you can also use your phone’s hotspot.
Main procedure :

Plug the OBD cable to the OBD-II port in the vehicle and start engine
-
Find the vehicle you are looking to log using the ECU selection or quick search function

Select the “Datalog” method
AutoTuner software will query the available measures for the ECU from the server. As soon as ready, the gauges will appear*

Start your dyno run
- To start a log, click on “Record” button or press the space bar on the keyboard
*We currently only display 12 gauges but we record more than 12 values. All values will be available when viewing the log online.
How to make a correct dyno run :

Cruise in 3rd gear at about 1500-2000 RPM
-
Start the log and immediately press the accelerator to wide open throttle
-
When RPM reach the redline on the car’s dashboard, stop the log
If the concerned car is equipped with automatic gearbox, please put the gearbox in sport mode/manual mode to avoid it to shift gear too quickly (kickdown).
How to use the online tool :
You can consult all the datalogs from your online AutoTuner Administration Interface.
Login to your AutoTuner Admin here and then click on "My datalogs".
All the datalogs uploaded by a slave tool are also automatically synced with their Master account so the master can easily have access.
How to share your log :
The URL available in your browser address bar is public. It means that you can share this link to anyone whether they are AutoTuner users or not.
A “copy link” button is available at the bottom of the graph. It will simply copy the link to your clipboard so you can paste it anywhere you want.
